Nurturing a Healthy Racial Identity in White Children – 5-session Foundations course
April 16 @ 6:30 PM - June 11 @ 8:00 PM

How do I talk about what it means to be white with my white children? What does it look like to cultivate a healthy, anti-racist white identity in kids? What are the steps that I can take as a parent, educator, and or adult that plays a meaningful role in the life of a child?
Join us for a 5-session Foundations training course during the spring of 2025 (April – June) on the topic “Nurturing a Healthy Racial Identity for White Children”. Together, we will learn about racial identity development and racial socialization in white children, consider the implications of whiteness and white culture, and talk about practical steps that caregivers can take to nurture a healthy racial identity for white children. **Best for caregivers of white children, ages 4-13.

Not sure if this is a good use of time and hard-earned money? Check out these comments from previous participants:
“I loved that I had a space free of judgment where I was able to talk about sensitive things. I also loved that I was able to find better ways to call in and not out when it comes to having uncomfortable conversations with others about things that matter to me.” -POC affinity group participant
“Normally evening commitments on a weekday feel like a burden, but these meetings felt energizing. I really appreciated hearing everyone’s perspectives and talking through the discussion topics together. It is helpful to have a space to process race-related issues with other white people because, ironically, it helps me leave behind some of the white dominant culture elements like perfectionism.” -White affinity group participant
“We began as strangers and ended as far-flung friends!” -POC affinity group participant
“It was great to talk, listen, learn and grow. Having new resources to explore was also helpful. Great group of people who care to make a difference. [The facilitator] listened to all, and found ways to connect thoughts back to the focus for each evening’s conversation. She provided videos and ideas that helped jump start and deepen the conversation….challenging our thinking and encouraging all to stretch in our learning.” -White affinity group participant
